We dined at Tani in the final week it was open and thoroughly enjoyed the fixed price degustation menu. The food was an amazing mixture of flavours, techniques and ingredients. A number that we had not tried before eg Wallaby tartare. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful and it was good that the tables were not crammed together to fit more in - I'm sure that they had to turn many booking away but they knew how many the wait and kitchen staff could deal with to provide a very good quality of food and service.They have a high standard to maintain in the new arrangement as a gin distillery with some food. However, we understand from the waiter told us about their new venture in response to our questions that their other restaurant (at Mt Hotham I think he said) will continue to offer high quality dining - hopefully it is as good as what we experienced at Tani.
