Encores at the Empire Theatre

Sadly this review is not one of recommendation mainly due to the overall cost of feeding two people. My reviews are usually full of praise raving about the food & service. Firstly the entrée we had was garlic bread which when paying the bill I found that every slice was $7.00. Have never paid $14.00 for two small slices just a mouthful of garlic bread. As well as that could not even taste the garlic!! Disappointing to say the least.Next our main meals arrived ..only luke warm almost no heat at all. My partner had chicken breast stuffed which was tasty but not being hot took away the enjoyment. My steak was tender cooked as requested but again the meal not being hot spoilt the experience totally. The waitress came over and asked how the meals were & we explained how they were tasty but not hot. On feeling the plates they were cold so perhaps if the plates were heated before the food was placed on the plates this may be a good move. We ordered one serve of sweets and a coffee which seemed to take forever to arrive and when we asked where my coffeee was after I had already eaten my sweets they then went over and made the coffee.The biggest shock was when I went to pay the bill!! For two slices of garlic bread, two mains, one sweet, one coffee, one glass of wine I was asked to pay $141.00. When questioned this huge amount theychecked and found they had added on some extras. The mains were $45 each which for cold food and a chicken &steak dish really was over the top!! Would we return. ..no never. .overrated for what we ate..

First time at Encores and enjoyed a nice lunch in pleasant surroundings. The staff were very friendly and polite. All in all was pretty good but certainly would not want to raise their prices at all.
